Today, something interesting happened. Globalization got us again.A website quoted us. Besides the initial question of, what does that mean, we checked out their site and found something cool in return. Aww, we shared. We came across a video of Tokyo entertainers, a Come to Tokyo tourist advertisement for teenage and mid to late 20’s-ish girls. Backstreet Boys? N’Sync? American Idol? Other countries are assimilating a lot of American culture, American media marketing, iconographing and branding. They’re taking their own cultures, blending it with the world wide frenzy to share everything with each other, yesterday, and creating their own celebrities. Paris is cool over there, but the thing that makes American celebrities popular is manufacturing foreign celebrities and bringing it back like sexy, in an already worn out colloquialism (try it out).
Looks like the foreigners got their own Big Bang theory.

Although fans saw System of a Down going splitsville as Earth shattering, we’d like to take a different approach, imagining the new projects, new directions and new music the members of such an amazing band can create! With former front-man Serj Tankian being the first SOAD member to put out his CD - Elect the Dead and receive critical acclaim as well as a healthy number of record sales, They Say is the first release from Scars on Broadway, remaining SOAD band-mates Daron and John. We gotta say it’s pretty gosh darn good! They Say’s got the SOAD powerpunch of politically charged lyrics, urging listeners and fans to “fuck the world with all its trend,” since “they say it’s all about to end” over screeching, riveting guitars with hell-yea heavy drumming. But SOB (couldn’t be an accident) front-man Daron is out to prove that Serj isn’t the only talent coming out of this legendary band of Armenian descent with a much more heavy-metal sound blending with and against Daron’s voice. We’re eagerly waiting to see just how deep Broadway’s Scars will go. If you ask us, it’s about time! SOB has upcoming performances with Metallica and one of our picks to be Fuzzing Famous - FLOBOTS!

PS…We didn’t forget about SOAD-genius Shavo and his forth coming project with the RZA - a duo we’re predicting will get Gnarls Barkley really Playing the Odds, betting that the Shavo/RZA combo won’t leave them, well, gnarled.

Ashanti’s new single, the way that I love you, has got a tumbling piano melody that adds the background for her powerful voice. This release marks her return after a long break from the music biz. The video tells the story of an Ashanti madly in love, really. The video has this sultry songstress contemplating and envisioning police, betrayal, news cameras, court rooms and revenge. So maybe it’s a metaphor but if there’s anything to be learned from a certain someone cutting off a certain something off a certain someone else (try to keep up), it’s that a woman scorned can be dangerous.

With Murder Inc., struggling to come back to the charts and popularity, this release is sure to grab some attention. Like it or not she’s cute in the face, she can sing with her own style, and goodness is she sexy. (Is it getting hot in here or am I just typing too fast?)

Lloyd’s album had some great tracks, one of which was produced by Usher’s little brother - guess which one and win a fuzzy surprize. =[]

Ja Rule put out a record or two didn’t he? We’ll look into it. Right now, we’re just going to enjoy Ashanti taking a bath.

is the talented front-man of Reincarnation Band. Fused to be a refreshing blend of reggae/ska roots and rich Armenian vocals, Jan Rastaman is exemplifies the Love and Rastafari message that Roland and his band Reincarnation invite you to share.

This band started as a metal band. Yah. Roland

and the other founding members of the band Reincarnated from a punk-rock band, releasing their first album Anoren, into a reggae and ska group. This group, powered by the melodic vocals of Roland and the pulsating mellow rhythms of reggae and ska with mixtures of Armenian music, has created an infectious sound that resonates with Armenian lyrics showing that great music isn’t just in understanding lyrics word for word but as a message, an experience and a shared connection.

The bewitching Casady sisters will have you go digging for those lost toys and reconsider recycling your ipod. Their video for Hairnet Paradise off their first album released in 2004, LA MAISON DE MON REVE, has this t-shirt clad duo bringing together a kazoo, a harp, and a toy. Yes, a kazoo, a harp and a toy. In this American musical duo, Sierra mainly plays the guitar, piano and harp, and contributes vocals. Bianca sings and manipulates various children’s toys/electronic & percussion instruments. What is attractive and awesome about these two creative sisters is not that they use these alternative musical devices, but their ability to experiment beyond ordinary musical boundaries, mixing in their classical musical training and inspiration from a more creative space.
