As our society is continuously seeking new ways to make oneself feel better with medical procedures, cosmetic surgery - a self identification of realizing one’s place in a society changing and defined by just those who are not sure who they are. It is a collective consciousness, “it wouldn’t be so bad if you could both be blindfolded.” But this piece turns the mirror away from the rest of the world and directly into the eyes of the person, the ordinary person behind political leaning, social status, wealth, desires or fears, but towards the heart of the matter, as it is put in the film, “matching up what’s in here with what’s out there.” What is in the what is a relationship between the creations of the mind and the creations of others. It is an echo-less hallway that leaves one on the side of the light, left only to look away from the darkness. I shoot people in this hat. Chaos. Control. Chaos. Control.
